Dai-ichi dai-man dai-kichi: one for all, all for one.
Mitsunari's banner
Discovered by Hideyoshi in the tale of the "three cups of tea," he became the administrator who ran land surveys and supply for the Toyotomi government. After Hideyoshi's death he opposed Tokugawa Ieyasu in defence of the Toyotomi house, gathered the Western Army and met him at Sekigahara. Betrayed by Kobayakawa Hideaki and others, he was defeated, captured while hiding in Ōmi, and executed at Rokujō-gawara. He is remembered as an official who died for his principles.
