I am Zhang Yide. Come and decide with me who dies!

Records of the Three Kingdoms, Biography of Zhang Fei

A native of Zhuo commandery. He followed Liu Bei from his youth together with Guan Yu; the Romance has the three swear brotherhood in the peach garden. At Changban in the 13th year of Jian'an he held the rear with twenty riders, broke down the Changban bridge, stood with the river at his back and roared, "I am Zhang Yide. Come and decide who dies!", pinning Cao Cao's pursuers in their tracks. In the conquest of Yi Province he won over Yan Yan, and in Baxi he beat Zhang He's great army on the mountain roads, opening the way to Hanzhong. Fierce in battle yet fond of calligraphy and painting, he was harsh with his men, and Liu Bei warned him that flogging soldiers and keeping them at his side was courting disaster. In the 1st year of Zhangwu, on the eve of marching to avenge Guan Yu, he was murdered in his sleep by his subordinates Zhang Da and Fan Qiang.
